Earth Changes and Societal Decline in the Kali Yuga (Shared from Mu the Motherland)

In December’s blog post, we discussed the Yugas and how they propel cycles of karmic patterns for the earth and its inhabitants. Depending on how the cosmic calendar is interpreted, many agree that we are currently in Kali Yuga—humanity’s darkest phase and the one that offers us the greatest possibilities for spiritual growth.

If we compare today’s socio-political, environmental, and economic challenges with those described by Edgar Cayce et. al. about the Atlantean culture, several similarities stand out.

Corruption and Greed:

I put this category at the top of the list mainly because once humankind starts down this path, terrible circumstances take over. Most of us want to be generous with our time, energy, and money. However, once the power players take over, all bets are off, and the world citizenship suffers. New technologies that are meant to make our lives easier, turn into weapons of mind-controlling propaganda and conspiracy theories designed to lead us into chaos. Alliances are formed among the power elite to eliminate those that are considered problematic to their unchecked ambition. Who are these people? Some we know—some remain hidden. However, if we study ancient and more recent history, it becomes apparent that it’s the behind-the-scene alliances that are most concerning.

Divide and Conquer

As in ancient times, scientific and technological advances initially benefit society, only to be used later as weapons against those that are deemed replaceable and of little consequence. Remember the ego is a powerful force, especially among the privileged. In their minds, there is only one way to go and that is to the top of everything, no matter who they step on in the process. The easiest way to accomplish their goals, is to send the rest of the world into chaos by turning the general populace against each other. Their rationale? Why spend the money incarcerating and executing people, when it’s more cost effective to encourage society to take up arms against their neighbor—in their own community or in a world war.

Exploitation of Power

In Atlantis, as now, the top tier of rich and powerful people owned and/or controlled the majority of resources. Discoveries that once created opportunity for clean air, clean water, environmentally sound energy and sustainable agriculture were turned into energy-based weaponry and extravagances that only the rich could afford. When society is monetarily divided, the exploited middle class disappears, unrest prevails and civil war breaks loose. Sound familiar?

Moral and Ethical Decay

The Atlantean elite, as we see in some of our so-called leaders today, indulged in their excesses and abandoned the guiding principles that once made Atlantis a beacon of wisdom and progress. Scientists and engineers, once dedicated to advancing humanity, were forced to serve the interests of the ruling class, designing innovations that benefited only the privileged few. Corrupt leaders silenced dissenters, and those who sought to challenge the status quo were branded as traitors or exiled.

The Breaking Point

It is our belief, at Mu the Motherland, that it was unchecked corruption and greed that set the stage for Atlantis’ downfall and destructions. The continent’s power relied on its crystalline energy source; controlled by the elite who consistently pushed the crystal beyond its limits. Some say that that in doing so, they destabilized its delicate balance triggering catastrophic destruction around the globe. As panic set in, civil unrest escalated into outright rebellion with factions clashing over control of the crystal. When the final destruction happened, humanity escaped the destructions anyway they could, by aircraft, boat, and on foot. Migrations that archaeologists continue to follow today, had their source during earth’s upheaval period. Some went underground during the great flood, some climbed to the highest peaks. Some tried to re-create what once was, but without the tools and resources necessary could not reproduce the technological life they once had and when that Kali Yuga ended, they made a new start—from the beginning.

Spiritual Decline

This is where Mu the Motherland comes in. The timing of what happened when and where is up for discussion and speculation. It is generally agreed, however, that those that resided in Mu (sometimes referred to as Lemuria) were more spiritually advanced than the Atlanteans. Edgar Cayce, (as many do today), insisted that souls reincarnate in groups with the bottom line being that Lemurians are still here and continue to push for peace, love, meditation, and right living. This is not by accident—but a karmic necessity to do it right this time around as the yugas continue to turn.

Technology, when used wisely, can elevate human civilization, offering convenience, efficiency, and expanded knowledge. However, when it becomes the sole focus of advancement, it often leads to materialism and spiritual atrophy. This occurs because people become engrossed in external tools, scientific progress, and technological achievements, neglecting inner development, ethical values, and pursuit of higher consciousness.

In Atlantis, the pursuit of power and dominance overshadowed wisdom and ethical governance. Ego-driven technological development, funded by ruling elite, used the tools that were meant for humankind’s evolution to further their wealth and power. Ethics and morality took a back burner to controlling the masses and increasing their influences. The final destruction of Atlantis was not just a physical cataclysm (earthquakes, floods, and pole shifts) but also a spiritual event—a result of humanity falling out of alignment with universal laws.

The Path Forward

So, what does this mean today? It means that it isn’t too late to reverse this trend towards complete materialism and to reintegrate the spiritual into everyday life. Let’s prioritize ethics in technological development and incorporate spiritual values into the advances. Encourage mindfulness, meditation, and connection to nature to counteract the disconnection caused by excessive screen time and digital dependencies. The lesson from Atlantis is clear; a civilization that neglects its spiritual foundation will eventually crumble—no matter how advanced its technology becomes. By integrating moral principles, sacred traditions, and a sense of interconnectedness, we can harness technology for the greater good rather than as a tool for destruction.
